The twelve monthly booklets of The Sunday-Ready Year on a pastor's desk beside an open Bible

Yes, I want every Sunday ready

Your first sermon is ready to preach 30 seconds after you open the file.

Phone and print Every verse quoted in full 14-day First Sunday guarantee No subscription

If this is your Saturday, this is for you

The problem was never your calling. It's that Sunday comes every seven days.

You open your Bible on Saturday night and the page stays blank

After a full week of work the sermon still isn't written. You preach what you have, and you know it could have been better.

You scroll through outlines that almost fit your text

Free outlines, old notes, a PDF you bought once and never opened again: an hour goes by and you're still choosing.

Your week keeps adding what can't wait

A funeral on Thursday, a visit at the hospital, the youth meeting: either the sermon or your people get what's left of you.

The special Sundays catch you unprepared

Easter, Youth Day, Women's Day, Christmas: your church has heard it before and you need something fresh, again.

What changes

Six things no pile of outlines ever gave you.

01

You stop deciding what to preach

The year is already in order. You open the Sunday that's coming and the sermon is there, complete.

02

You get your Saturday night back

No searching, no choosing, no writing from scratch. Thirty seconds to open, a few minutes to read, and it's yours.

03

You walk up knowing how it ends

Every sermon closes with its altar call and its closing prayer. The last two minutes stop being improvised.

04

You stop fearing the week that breaks the plan

Funeral, hospital, a family in crisis: twelve ready sermons wait in their own file for the services nobody schedules.

05

You stop guessing what the text is about

Every book of the Bible on one page: who wrote it, to whom, the big theme and how to preach it. Context in two minutes, no commentary needed.

06

Your interpreter can follow you

Short sentences, one idea per paragraph, and a one-page preacher's card you can hand over before the service.

Why more outlines never fixed it

You don't have a sermon problem. You have an order problem.

Everything you own is ordered by Bible text: your commentary, your outline books, your folder of notes, the PDF with thousands of outlines. But your week is not ordered by text. It is ordered by dates: this Sunday, then Youth Day, then a funeral on Thursday, then Pentecost. So every week you have to translate the calendar into a search, and the search is what eats your Saturday night. The bigger the library, the longer the search.

Calendar-First Preaching turns it around: the calendar comes first, the text comes second. The year is mapped Sunday by Sunday, every Sunday already carries its complete sermon, and the week that falls apart has its own drawer. You stop searching. You open, read and preach.

A cream wall calendar with the 52 Sundays of the year, each with its sermon title written in blue ink

The year on the wall of the church office: every Sunday already has its sermon.

The year at a glance

Fifty-two Sundays, already placed on the South African church year.

Mapped on 2027. The Sundays are numbered, not dated, so you can start any week you like; the special ones are marked so you can slide them to fit your year.

Plus a movable Sunday for your church anniversary, and twelve sermons outside the grid for funerals, hospital visits and the weeks nobody plans.

What an outline library gives you

1,100 outlines ordered by text. You pick one every Saturday.

Three points per outline. The search, the choice and the writing are still yours, fifty-two times a year.

What The Sunday-Ready Year gives you

52 complete sermons ordered by Sunday. You open the next one.

Key text in full, introduction, three points with illustrations, application, altar call and closing prayer. Nothing left to search for.

How it works

Three steps, and this Sunday is already covered.

Open the month

Twelve files, one per month, on your phone or printed. Each month holds its four or five Sundays, already in order.

2

Read the Sunday

Title, key text quoted in full, three points with their illustrations, the application, the altar call. Thirty seconds and it's in your hands.

3

Preach it

Sunday 1 · New Year

Before the First Step

Read Sunday 1 in full

Key text

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9

Introduction

Moses is dead. Forty years of following one man, and now the man is gone. Joshua stands at the edge of the Jordan with two million people behind him and a river in front of him. He has not taken a single step into the land yet. And before the first step, God speaks. Not after the victory, not after the crossing. Before. That is where many of us stand this morning: at the edge of a new year, with a river in front of us and a word from God we have not fully heard.

01 · God speaks before you move

Look at verse 1: "After the death of Moses... the LORD spake unto Joshua." The first thing in the new season is not a plan. It is a voice. Joshua did not have to earn the word; it came to him while he was still standing still.

Illustration: a taxi driver does not start the engine until he knows the route. The passengers are already in. The money is already paid. But he waits for one thing: where are we going. God gives Joshua the route before the engine turns.

02 · Courage is a command, not a feeling

Three times in this chapter God says "be strong and of a good courage". He does not say "feel brave". He commands it. Courage is a decision you make with God's promise in your hand, while your knees are still shaking.

Illustration: a young mother walking into the clinic at five in the morning does not feel strong. She is strong because her child needs her to walk. The feeling comes later, if it comes at all. The walking comes first.

03 · The promise is a Person, not a place

"The LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." The land was the gift. The presence was the promise. Joshua could lose a battle, but he could not lose God. Whatever this year holds for you, the promise is not that the river will be easy. The promise is who crosses it with you.

Illustration: a child in the dark is not comforted by a map of the house. The child is comforted by a hand. God does not give Joshua a map of Canaan. He gives him a hand.

Application for the week

Write down the one river you are facing this year. Not three. One. Each morning this week, before you look at your phone, read Joshua 1:9 out loud over that river. By Saturday you will have said it seven times. Courage is built by repetition, not by inspiration.

Altar call

Someone here is standing at the edge of something. A new job, a new marriage, a diagnosis, a child leaving home, a church you are not sure you can lead. You have not taken the first step because you are waiting to feel ready. God is not asking you to feel ready. He is asking you to be strong, and He is promising to go with you. If that is you, I want you to come forward, or stand where you are, and we will pray for the first step.

Closing prayer

Lord, You spoke to Joshua before he moved, and You are speaking to us now. Give us courage that does not depend on our feelings, and remind us every morning of this year that You go where we go. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Sunday 24 · Youth Day

Daniel Decided in His Heart

Read Sunday 24 in full

Key text

"But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself." Daniel 1:8

Introduction

Daniel was a teenager when the soldiers took him from Jerusalem to Babylon. New city, new language, new name, new food, new gods. Everything that made him who he was had been taken away, except one thing: what he decided in his heart. On this Youth Sunday we remember the young people of 1976 who decided something in their hearts, and we look at a young man who decided something in his, two and a half thousand years earlier.

01 · The decision was made before the table

Daniel did not decide at the dinner table, with the king's meat in front of him. He "purposed in his heart" before the plate arrived. The young person who waits until the moment of temptation to decide has already decided.

Illustration: nobody chooses to be sober at the party. You choose it in the taxi on the way there. By the time the bottle is in front of you, the choice is only being revealed, not made.

02 · He refused with respect, not with rebellion

Daniel "requested" permission. He did not throw the plate. He honoured the man in authority while he refused the thing that would defile him. You can hold your convictions without losing your manners. Respect opened doors that rebellion would have slammed shut.

Illustration: a learner who tells the teacher, "Sir, I cannot do this, but here is what I can do," is heard. The one who shouts is sent out. Both said no. Only one was still in the room.

03 · God honoured the decision with favour

Verse 9: "Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs." Daniel decided; God provided the favour. The young person who draws a line in Babylon will find that God has already been working on the other side of the line.

Illustration: you cannot see the full road from the taxi rank at night. You only see as far as the headlights reach. Daniel saw ten days. God saw seventy years and four kings. Favour is God walking ahead of your decision.

Application for the week

Young people: write down one thing you are deciding in your heart this week, before the table, before the party, before the exam, before the phone. Tell one older believer in this church what you decided, and ask them to pray for it with you on Wednesday.

Altar call

There is a young person here who has been making decisions at the table instead of in the heart, and it has cost you. You are not in trouble this morning; you are at a beginning. Daniel's whole life turned on one decision made early. If you want to purpose in your heart today, come and stand at the front, and let this church pray over the Daniels and the Hannahs God is raising up in this place.

Closing prayer

Father, thank You for the young people of this church. Give them the heart of Daniel: decided before the table, respectful in the refusal, and trusting You for the favour on the other side. Keep them in Babylon without Babylon getting into them. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

What pastors ask in the first week, and where the answer is.

You start any Sunday. The sermons are numbered, not dated. Begin at Sunday 1 whenever you open the file; the special Sundays are marked so you slide them into your own year.

Questions

What pastors ask before they buy.

Will it fit my church? We're Pentecostal / Baptist / Methodist / AFM / Assemblies of God / independent.

The sermons are built on the text itself, with no denominational doctrine added: the Gospel, the Christian life, the church, the family, prayer, faith in hard times. Every verse is quoted in full with its reference so you can read it from your own Bible, in any version. If your church follows a fixed lectionary, this is not for you.

I preach in isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sesotho or Afrikaans, or with a translator.

Every sermon is written in plain English with short sentences and one idea per paragraph, so you can translate on the spot or hand the preacher's card to your interpreter before the service.

Who wrote these sermons?

Our editorial team, who prepare preaching material full-time; every sermon is checked verse by verse against the King James text. No celebrity preacher, no borrowed name. Two complete Sundays are on this page so you can judge the work before you pay.

Is it a subscription? Do I need the internet to use it?

One payment, lifetime access. You download the PDFs to your phone or laptop and they work without data.

When do I receive it?

Right after payment you get your welcome email with your access details. All the materials reach your inbox within 48 hours at the latest.

There are free outlines everywhere. What changes here?

A free outline is three points on a text, and the search for the right one is what eats your Saturday. Here the year is already in order, each Sunday is a complete sermon with its altar call, and the services that break your week have their own twelve. You stop searching; you open and preach.

What if my week changes and the calendar sermon doesn't fit?

Open The Emergency 12 for a funeral, a hospital visit or a crisis, or the Topic Bank to swap the Sunday for one of 500 outlines by theme. Both are indexed by situation so the swap takes 30 seconds.

One more thing

Next Saturday night, the page won't be blank.

Fifty-two complete sermons in the order you'll preach them, 500 outlines by theme, every book of the Bible on one page, and the three gifts for the week that breaks the plan. Open it once; it covers the year.
